The Supreme Court refuses to say whether Justice Clarence Thomas is still hospitalized.

The Supreme Court announced Sunday evening that Associate Justice Clarence Thomas, 73, had been hospitalized since Friday with an infection.

“Justice Clarence Thomas was admitted to Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C., on Friday evening after experiencing flu-like symptoms. He underwent tests, was diagnosed with an infection, and is being treated with intravenous antibiotics,” the highest court of the land said in a statement Sunday evening.

Thomas was supposed to be released Tuesday evening, however, the Supreme Court did not provide an update Wednesday morning, the AP reported.

The Supreme Court declined to say Wednesday whether 73-year-old Justice Clarence Thomas remains in the hospital, though he had been expected to be released by Tuesday evening. The court said Sunday that Thomas had been admitted to Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington on Friday after experiencing “flu-like symptoms,” and he was diagnosed with an infection. His “symptoms are abating,” and he was expected to be released Monday or Tuesday, the court said in a statement at the time. But on Wednesday morning, court spokeswoman Patricia McCabe said she had no update to provide.
